Even the flattest natural areas in Costa Rica have a mountain or two.  Cerro del Tortuguero in the National Park of the same name rises only 1,279 feet (390 meters) above sea level but it's still a stiff climb providing spectacular views for miles around.  Several parks and reserves however take the majority of their character from their peaks.
