Tortuguero is famous for the Sea Turtle nesting beaches, but not everyone know's it is also probably the single best spot in Costa Rica for viewing other wildlife. Monkeys, sloths, water walking lizardsd and hundreds of bird species call the unique "water trails" of the park home and as naturalists know wildlife allows much closer approaches without startling when you glide up in a boat than when you're on foot.
